In The Lonely Hour

Cupcakes and root beer
Café tables and bar stools
Staying high, running low
All alone in this crowd
A stranger in the mirror
Not everybody lives but everybody dies
Married to this game of life
But she keeps breaking her vows
Confessions to the priest
Given penance I can’t petition
Staying high, running low
No longer at peace, yearning for blitz
Hand over heart I am praying
But the heart keeps on fighting  for what it wants
Hope I am gonna make it out alive
This is a modern fairy tale it seems
With no happy endings
Keep your advice to yourself
Coz I no longer care
Only time and fate
 Is gonna be
The end of me.
